Surrendering (giving up) your permit for water discharges
You can cancel your permit or part of your permit at any time. This is known as ‘surrendering’ your permit. You must still pay for your permit until you cancel it.
You can cancel your permit if you no longer need it, for example if you have stopped doing the activity your permit covered.
Fees and charges
You will need to pay a fee of £363 to surrender your environmental permit.
Changing your permit
You do not need to cancel your permit if you want to:
- transfer your permit to somebody else
- remove people from a permit
- remove activities from your permit
