Regulated facility type: non-hazardous physical treatment facility for the treatment of non-hazardous iron and steelmaking wastes and construction and demolition wastes - the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016, Schedule 1 installation, Part 1, Section 5.4 A(1)(b)(iii) installation activity for the recovery or a mix of recovery and disposal of non-hazardous waste with a capacity exceeding 75 tonnes per day involving the treatment of slags and ashes; and waste facility for the physical treatment of non-hazardous waste.

This is an application for a new bespoke non-hazardous physical treatment facility treating no more than 300,000 tonnes per year.

We are minded to grant the permit. We will only grant a permit if we believe that significant pollution will not be caused and the operator has the ability to meet the conditions of the permit. Any permit we grant will include appropriate conditions to protect human health and the environment.
